Market Development

Some of us have been actively involved in creating the diving market, which has originated from the club environment with people taking large chances in participating in business ventures. In some ways it was even looked at as a condemned occupation, where most knowledge had to be self-acquired.

- Junior Open Water dives,

- Discover Scuba sessions,

- Specialised courses.

When change occurs, large amounts of staff training are and always will be needed to deal with the demand for family-oriented leisure activities. With the annual growth rate of about 14-16% not all areas are seeing positive results due to a number of countries restricting activities with inflexible legislation, disregarding the internationally recognised qualifications of scuba instructors. An international code of practice is badly needed to enable the professionally trained instructor to work freely internationally.

All members of the RSTC have one common prudent aim, to provide governments with an internationally accepted guild to establish educational levels and safe codes of practice. Such a unilateral recognition is what we all have to strive for as members of constructive, supportive lobby. All further delays in this cause would only create negative growth
